Well, I need another project like (yet another) hole in my head...but I have one...another project that is. No new holes, atleast that I know about.
Picked this up today. Yep, it's a 750 Nighthawk. The sturdy, peppy, and bulletproof machine of the 90's.
She was my friend Ron's first machine, and has been thrashed a bit. Honda's can take it though. There are two possibly expensive problems...one, the front brake rotor is warped and needs to be replaced. Not cheap, but perhaps I can find a used one.
Next, she leaks oil from the left front engine cover...the crank seal on the left must be gone. Not sure on these bikes if that can be replaced without pulling and splitting the engine. If it can be replaced without pulling the engine, this machine is easily put back on the road in decent condition.
So that begs the question. What do I do with her?
-Clean up and put her on the road as somebody's starter bike?
-Part her out?
-Do something slightly custom? Black her out? Sleek her down? Maybe a contoured cut out steel dragon wrapped around the tank and tig welded on before painting...(to give it some interest and cover a couple dings)
Hmmm...maybe I'll put it up for a vote.
